Carpool (for La Escuelita and Main Building) will be open from 7:30AM-7:55AM.
Students must be in their classrooms ready to learn when the tardy bell rings at 7:55AM.
Preschool will begin dismissal at 3:15PM through the parking lot of La Escuelita, and end at 3:20PM.
Main carpool will begin at 3:30PM through the carport, and end at 4:00PM.
Absent?
Parents/guardians are asked to report a student’s absence to the office by 9:00 AM and are to provide a written explanation upon the student’s return to school if the absence extends beyond three consecutive school days. Students who are absent should ask their teacher for make-up work.
If a student is absent or a student leaves early due to an illness, he/she may not participate in after-school sports or extracurricular activities on that day.
Promotion or credit may be jeopardized if a student misses more than eighteen (18) days, excused or unexcused.” Students with more than 18 absences will be required to attend Summer School in order to be promoted to the next grade.
Arriving late?
Students arriving after 7:55 must be walked to the school door by an adult. Students will receive a tardy pass to take to their homeroom teacher. Preschool students will need to come to the front office for their tardy pass and then parents will walk the student over to La Escuelita.
Students who accumulate excessive tardies will be fined. Please see the Parent-Student Handbook for more information.
Picking up early?
Please call the school office at 713-224-6904.
For students in La Escuelita, early dismissal must take place before 2:45 PM.
For students in Kinder-8th, early dismissal must take place before 3:00 PM.
Parents/guardians who arrive after these listed times will need to wait until after carpool (or join the carpool line) before they can take their students home. Please be sure to share this information with grandparents, older siblings, or anyone else who may be authorized to pick up your child.
Parents/guardians may log into FACTS (formerly RenWeb) to access their child’s grades.

OLGCS offers Before and After School Program (known as BASP). Ms. Cassandra Moreno is the Director and her email address is [email protected].
BASP is a regularly planned program of study time, snacks, and play. This service is available for parents/guardians who knowingly are unable to have their child(ren) picked up by 3:30 PM. For more information visit the BASP page.
Email is the most efficient way to communicate with your child’s teacher. Teachers respond within 48 hours. You may also call the school office to request an appointment with your child’s teacher. Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled twice a year [once in the fall and once in the spring].
The school produces a newsletter which is emailed to all parents quarterly. We hope to make it available on our school’s website this year.
Students should be prepared to bring their school supplies to Meet the Teacher in August. School supply lists for each grade level are shared here.
